O Femina – Festival Internacional de Cinema Feminino foi criado com o objetivo de destacar o trabalho das mulheres no cenário cinematográfico e cultural brasileiro e mundial, incentivar o surgimento de novas diretoras e a produção de filmes dirigidos por mulheres, e promover a igualdade de gênero.

Em 2010, o Femina chega a sua sétima edição através do patrocínio da CAIXA ECONÔMICA FEDERAL, da AVON, da Secretaria do Audiovisual do Ministério da Cultura e da Fersol.

O Femina apresenta em sua abertura o filme Engelen, da diretora norueguesa Margreth Olin. O Femina exibiu em edições anteriores outros filmes de Margreth, inclusive o vencedor da categoria Melhor Longa metragem Internacional em 2006. Por isso, é um prazer recebe-la durante a semana do festival, para apresentar seu filme e conversar com o público.

Este ano reorganizamos nossas Mostras Competitivas e realizaremos uma Competitiva Brasileira de longas e curtas e uma Competitiva de longas e curtas Internacionais, com uma seleção de filmes de diversos estados brasileiros e países representados.

Como todos os anos, faremos uma Sessão Homenagem a uma Personalidade Feminina do Cinema Brasileiro – esse ano, nossa homenageada é a diretora da Cinédia Alice Gonzaga.

O país convidado e homenageado deste ano é a Dinamarca, com lançamento de filmes e uma mostra especial que representa sua produção feminina recente.

O Fórum de Debates, mais uma vez, conta com a participação de diversos convidados e com a parceria da Secretaria Especial de Políticas para as Mulheres, do Instituto Avon, do UNIFEM – Fundo de Desenvolvimento das Nações Unidas para a Mulher e do Fundo Social Elas.

Apresentamos ainda sessões especiais temáticas como a Masculino-Feminino, Eu Gosto é de Mulher, Dividindo a Conta, Programas Infantis, entre outras.

FEMINA International Women’s Film Festival was created to highlight the women’s work, both inside and outside Brazil’s cinematographic and cultural sceneries, in order to encourage the appearing of new female directors, and therefore, increase the productions directed by them. FEMINA also promotes gender equality.

In 2010, FEMINA reaches its seventh edition, with the support of its sponsors, CAIXA ECONÔMICA FEDERAL, AVON, The State Audiovisual Secretary of the Ministry of Culture and FERSOL.

This year, the Festival exhibits in its opening evening the film “Engelen” (“The Angel”), directed by the Norwegian Margreth Olin.  In its past editions, FEMINA has also exhibited other of her works, including one that won the prize of Best Film, in 2006.

In this edition, FEMINA reorganized its competitive exhibitions and will handle a Brazilian and an International Competitive Exhibitions with both Feature and Short Films. In both shows, there is a selection of films coming from many Brazilian states and other countries.

As it’s already a tradition, we’ll have an homage exhibition to a Brazilian female personality of the film business. In 2010, our honored one is Alice Gonzaga, director of Cinédia Film Studio.

The invited and honored country this year is Denmark. Its representatives will present us many films and a special showcase to show its recent female production.

Once again, the Debate Forum will gather many experts invited and will count on the partnership that has been going on for years between FEMINA and the Special State Secretary of Female Politics, the Avon Institute, the UNIFEM – United Nation’s International Fund for Women, and also the Social Fund “Elas”.

We’ll also have special and thematic programs, such as Masculine-Feminine, It’s Women I Like, Sharing the Bill, Children Program, among others.

We thank all the people involved in this event, as much as the companies and institutions which helped us getting through with Femina’s 2010 edition.
